Relax. Your Holiday Is Protected.

We are Travel Safe, its a simple as that.

We just dont book your holiday, we fully protect your funds from the beginning. This means you are “travelling safe” from the moment you book, not just when you board the plane.

Package holidays are one of the most popular ways to book an overseas holiday and, given the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, are becoming even more popular as they offer holidaymakers the highest level of protection and peace of mind. So, what is a package holiday and why should you book one?

Any type of holiday – such as a city break, a beach holiday, a ski trip or even backpacking around the world – can be a package holiday. While packages can be ‘ready-made’ by the travel company they can also be ‘tailor-made’ to suit each customer’s preferences and budget. The definition of a ‘package holiday’ is simply that a travel company has put at least two parts of your trip together for you, such as your flights, accommodation, car hire or tickets to a local attraction.

When our parent company Travel Safe was established, it was to ensure primarily clients could be safe in the knowledge their funds are safe.

Our trust account allows us to separate our operating funds from our client funds, which under the deeds of our trust account, can only be used to pay for your holiday and services. The trust account and associated payments are approved by an independent third party trustee.

Your holiday is protected by Travel Safe. Travel safe is a trading name of Travel Safe Services Limited who are a member of Protected Trust Services Number 5592.

Travel Safe also hold an ATOL license for protecting flight inclusive packages. Our ATOL numbers is 12242. Full information can be found on the Civil Aviation Website here.

In travel, a trust account protects the consumer by ensuring that their money cannot be used before they travel for any other purpose than paying suppliers for their holiday. The consumer pays money for their holiday into the trust account and it can only be paid out before travel to suppliers if there is insurance in place to repay the trust account in the case of insolvency.

The trust account is run independently from our company. This provides an extra level of protection for you and ensures the money you have paid can only be used for paying for your holiday.

An ATOL license ensures that the customers will be looked after in case a company lets its customers down cancelling its holidays or leaves them stranded overseas. It can provide full refunds or ensure people are able to finish their holidays confident they will be able to return.

ATOL cover means you are protected if you book a holiday with a single travel firm that includes: flights and accommodation (including on a cruise), or flights and car hire, or flights, accommodation and car hire.

The ATOL scheme also applies when you book a package that includes UK domestic flights, your holiday involves at least one flight to or from the UK (eg, a fly/cruise break where you travel out by ship and fly home) or you book flights (including UK domestic flights) but do not receive your tickets immediately. This is most common with charter flights and can also apply to discounted scheduled flights, but does not apply to holidays or flights booked direct with scheduled airlines or with airline ticket agents.

There are certain situations that will and won’t be protected. Before we delve into what type of protection you can expect for your holiday, it’s important to cover when it can be protected legally and financially. As you will see, using a travel agent will undoubtedly be your best source of protection.

Your holiday will be protected in these situations:

  • If it is a package holiday – this is a holiday that includes more than one element (flight, accommodation, tour activity etc.), and is sold under one price and one agreement.
  • If it is a linked travel arrangement – as with a package holiday, a linked travel arrangement is a holiday that includes more than one element, but it is sold differently to a package holiday. You will be informed that you are being sold a linked travel arrangement in this instance.
  • If you book with a Protected Trust Services (PTS) member

If your booking does not have a flight element on it, then you will not be ATOL protected for your trip.

Please do not worry as we offer full protection on all our bookings in lieu of ATOL cover. All bookings made with us have Supplier Failure Insurance (SFI) which insures your client funds in the event the supplier stops trading. In this event we will manage everything for you and there will be no action required from you.

Travel Safe are proud members of Protected Trust Services (PTS).

PTS travel agents need at least 2 years of experience, and PTS tour operators need sufficient knowledge in their travel service niche, so you are guaranteed to be working with an experienced and passionate travel company.

All PTS members are also package travel regulations compliant, and operate under our PTS trust account. This means that none of your money will be used outside of paying the supplier for your holiday. Where the money does leave the account to pay a supplier early, it is insured by Supplier Failure Insurance (SFI), so no matter what, from the moment you book your holiday, to the moment you arrive home safe and sound, you can call, ask where your money is, and we can tell you.
